Rory T. Riordan, age 74, of Derby entered into rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at his home in South Carolina. He was the devoted husband of the late Kathleen (Murphy) Riordan.

Rory was born in Derby on September 9, 1947 son of the late William Riordan and Rose (Musante) Riordan. He was a Derby resident for most of his life before moving to South Carolina eight years ago.

Rory was a supernumerary Police Officer for the Derby Police Department from the early 1970’s until December 1998. He also worked in security at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years until his retirement. Rory was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was the beloved father of Eric Riordan and his wife Vanessa, grandfather of Arianna, Bradley, Brandon and David. Rory was predeceased by his brother Kevin Riordan.

On Tuesday, friends may call from 4 to 7 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Wednesday, friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St., Derby for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. His burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
